What We Believe

  • Salvation

The deliverance, by the grace of God from eternal punishment for sin which is granted to those who accept by faith God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.

  • God

We affirm our belief in the One eternal God, Creator and Lord of the world, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who governs all things according to the purpose of his will.

  • The Bible

We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

  • Jesus

We affirm that there is only one Savior and only one gospel, although there is a wide diversity of evangelistic approaches. Jesus Christ, being himself the only God-Man, who gave himself as the only ransom for sinners, is the only mediator between God and people. There is no other name by which we must be saved.

  • Holy Spirit

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Father sent his Spirit to bear witness to his Son; without his witness ours is futile. Conviction of sin, faith in Christ, new birth and Christian growth are all his work.

  • Sin

We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sin is more comprehensive than errant behavior or acts of rebellion, and has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.

  • Church Unity

We affirm that the Church’s visible unity in truth is God’s purpose. Evangelism also summons us to unity, because our oneness strengthens our witness, just as our disunity undermines our gospel of reconciliation.

  • Urgency for Evangelism

Two-thirds of humanity have yet to hear the gospel. It is time for The Church, as the people of God to act with a sense of urgency to both pray and intentionally launch new efforts to ensure that every man, woman and child has many opportunities to hear, see, and experience the gospel.

  • The Kingdom Come

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.

  • Gospel Saturation

We exist so every man, woman, and child in Greater Charlotte repeatedly hears and sees the Gospel.

  • Collaboration

We believe we’re better together. We unite churches, leaders, and networks to do what no one church can do alone.

  • Multiplication

We don’t just want to grow—we want to multiply disciples, leaders, churches, and sending capacity.

Key Distinctives of GCCPN

We adopt the Lausanne Covenant. Here are a few key distinctives that mark the GCCPN:

  • Gospel Saturation

We know the most effective way to reach lost people is by intentionally partnering in the work of God for the creation of new local and distinct bodies of Christ. We believe that the churches we have currently are just not enough. That is why we are going to penetrate lostness in our circle of accountability with gospel centered churches.

  • Formation

The church planting couple must be healthy in a variety of ways for them to be the most effective. Emotional, Spiritual and Physical health are key when changing the spiritual landscape of our city.

  • Collaboration

The Church can do more together than apart. Collaboration is the natural behavior of a group who fulfills the call to be one. Multiplication - To reach every man, woman and child in our circle of accountability will require exponential growth that can only come when we commit to multiplying leaders, planters, churches, and networks.
